Compression Socks Review

I stand on my feet a lot since I work in a kitchen. It is literally 8 hours of not getting a break, usually. I noticed my legs were starting to hurt. Someone told me to try compression socks. I was not sure what size to get at first I took a look at the size chart and found I am a size medium. I wear a size 9 shoe. These fit snug, but not tight enough where it is uncomfortable. For me, they hit just above the knee. They stayed put all day without slipping. The yellow neon green color is kind of strange. The dots at the bottom I think are just for looks. I was hoping it would give some arch support, but it does not. Overall, they were super comfortable. I would love all my socks to be like this. If you are pregnant or suffering from varicose veins, these would be perfect as well.

I got mine from:

WINOMA Eyebrow Stencils

I have really thin and sparse eyebrows. I usually just draw them on by hand. I remember a while back ago my mom getting me stencils when I was in high school. I thought it was weird. Twelve years later, I decided to try them out again. These come in a resealable package, so you can put the eyebrow stencils back in the bag for reuse. They are made of a thin flexible material. I like this because you can easily clean them and reuse.

To use them is kind of weird. I could not get a handle on how to get the positioning right. After some practice I kind of got it.

The stencils themselves look different. Each having a different arch and thickness. I did notice that when I went to go apply, they almost all look the same. Although the stencils look somewhat thin, they come out thick. I think If you have naturally thicker brows, these would be great. But because mine are thin and skinny, it just does not work for my face.

If they actually came out with thinner ones with other shapes, I would definitely try these again.

Pocket Blanket

I was not sure what to expect from this blanket. I have had, what I thought, something similar, but the other item was bigger. This was so tiny and c compact. When I got the package, I did not think it was the blanket. I just saw a little yellow stuffed pouch. I first thought it was just a little carrying case before realizing it is attached to the blanket. I thought this was cool because I do not have to go looking for a separate bag. When I fully opened it, I noticed it was slightly thing. Almost like a tent material. It is pretty strong. You can probably fit a decent 4 people on it. Or maybe even 5 small children.

I did not get a chance to take it to the beach yet. With the material, I think it would get too hot that I would need another blanket to prevent it getting hot. I will have to test it out there. On each corner corner are little red triangles. I realized this is a good spot to put items, or sand to help it from being blown away. Folding it back into the pouch was a little hard. Once I got the hang of it though, it's pretty easy. No matter what it is light and thin enough to fold anyway and stick it in a bag.

Digital Thermometer

For having smaller children, a 3 and 7-year-old, they do not always like getting their temperature checked. And sitting there for 10-15 seconds seems like a lifetime to them. I figured this digital infrared forehead thermometer would be best. This thermometer is light weight and pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. It is shaped just like others I have seen at the doctor’s office. There are three buttons on top with a small screen that displays the temperature. To use it is pretty simple. The thing is you have to be pretty close to the person without touching them. I had to take it a few times to get the most accurate. Or you can just add a degree like an under pit thermometer. The temperatures can also get taken in Celsius and Fahrenheit. It fits very ergonomically to my hand, which I like a lot. I can control everything from one hand.

In general, this thermometer would be great for anyone. It has a fast reading, easy to read screen, and easy to work. I reviewed this product for free or at a discounted rate for my honest, unbiased feedback.

Mermaid Bathing Suit Reviews

So I got three different bathing suits, but have only received two so far. Here are the reviews for them. They are super cute.
I got this for my 3 year old daughter. She is on the large size for her age weighing about 35 pounds and about 38" tall. she is wider set. Normally she wears a 4T in clothing, so I decided to get her the 120cm size. The fit of it was slightly big. The bottoms fit fine, but I think that it will get slightly baggy once it gets wet. The top is a strapless top. That was way too big and kept falling off. It almost seemed like the elastic was stretched out. Luckily It seems like an easy fix. I will probably sew in a new elastic band and some straps.Pretty simple. The mermaid skirt is super cute. My daughter loved it. Since she couldn't wear the top bathing suit, she just lifted up the tail like a dress. The bottom is not closed, so it makes it easy for her to walk in. I definitely would not recommend swimming with the tail on. It would be to heavy once wet. It is more of a cover up when they are out of the water. We are going to the beach, so this is perfect to have a mermaid "flipping" around.

I got this second mermaid tankini set for my 7 year old daughter. She is 50" and about 50 pounds. I got her the biggest size at 150cm. Everything fit pretty well on her, except the bottoms were a little too big. She does have a little bubble butt, but I could have probably gone down a size for her. The bottoms also have ties on the sides to create a cute little bow. There is no tag to find the front or back. You just kind of have to try on the see where the baggy side is. The top fit perfect. It is really easy to adjust, so even a smaller size would have been good. It covers everything and moves well with her. Everything is pretty stretchy, so you have to keep in mind how it will stretch in the water. The tail has an open area at the bottom. This makes it easy for the kids to walk in. Do not swim with the tail on though. It is heavy and will drag in the water. All in all this is such a cute bathing suit, especially for the price. I would snatch it up in a store if I saw it.

Crown Coast Umbrella Review

I had the opportunity to try this heavy duty compact umbrella from crown coast. Since I live in Southern California, El Nino has arrived. For the two days it was non stop raining. Of course at that time I didn't have an umbrella. The Crown Coast Heavy Duty Compact Umbrella arrived the day after the rain stopped. That's ok though, I know it will rain again.

Anyways, Crown Coast has some amazing umbrellas. First thing I enjoyed was the weight. It was light and comfortable to hold. I next noticed the handle and the metal bars. It did not feel like cheap metal that easily bends. It is heavy duty metal that can hold up. When those high winds hit, the frame helps the canopy stay in place, rather then flip up. If it does flip up, it just bounces right back without ruining the umbrella.

On the handle they have a little button with two arrows, one down, one up. To open it, push once. It easily pops open. It's a really big umbrella that two people could probably fit in. The fabric on the canopy is a strong material that is water resistant. Obviously helpful during the rain.  To close it, just push the button again. The canopy closes shut, and you just need to push it down. It has a strap to hold down the fabric. Then put it back into the sleeve. It is super compact, Crown Coast umbrella can easily fit into a backpack, purse, diaper bag etc.

There are different colors to choose from as well. I liked this red one. Its a very nice deep red that can go with many of my outfits. Another neat thing is the lifetime guarantee. Although the Crown Coast umbrella has an estimated life of 6000 openings, if something were to happen before, Crown Coast will replace it. So that is super neat for a company. Sweet New Flat Iron

This is such an awesome flat iron! Our old, although good, was just barely on it's last legs. It was taking forever to heat up and half the outside plate was broken. Just no Bueno.

Before opening up the package, I didn't think it was the flat iron. It was so light. Once I opened it I couldn't wait to try. First thing I noticed was the weight. It is extremely light weight. Then the sleekness. It is super smooth, with only one button. The button controls the power as well the temperature settings. The temperatures range from 260F-410F.

I have thin hair, but a lot of it making it thick. I set it to the middle at 350F, which heated up within a couple of minutes. The first morning I tried it my hair was extremely wavy because I slept with a tiny bun in. I thought it would take forever to go through. To my surprise, it was a breeze! I do not style my hair often, nor like spending the time on it. I have to see if it would be able to curl as my old one did.

There's also a one hour automatic off to it. My husband tends to forget to unplug or turn off the flat iron. So for the flat iron to have this feautre is neat. Hopefully we won't need it though.

Finding a product that I can get things done fast is my type of product. This flat iron did just that. I absolutely love it. It is also thin enough for easily traveling. Not to mention it can come with a 2 year warranty

Really Crappy Makeup Tutorial

Alrighty, so I made a makeup tutorial! It is definitely not the best, but a start. A lot of people ask me how I do my makeup and how I have the time with kids. I just make the time. To me makeup is a type of art. Although, I may not be the best at it, I am getting better(I think). The video is really crappy quality, as I did it on my webcam, with bad lighting and sound. This is where I usually do my makeup everyday.

I did have a few distractions with my youngest coming in. Then my husband, Alex, came in so I had to stop after my eyeliner. I'm going to post what I used here to.

***After trying to upload my video all day, it just wasn't happening. I will post the pictures of what I used still as well as a lovely after selfie

These are the brushes I typically use. Most are Bare Minerals brushes that I LOVE. Others are more generic. The tiny one near the brow pencil is part of a Sephora set.

These are the products I used for my eyes/cheeks/lips. The pallete was a Christmas gift. It'scalled "The Naked Truth" from Wet'N'Wild. The eyeliners are Lancome ArtLiner and Drama Liqui-pencil. The Mascara is Lancome Grandiose. Love the affect this gives. My lipgloss is Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie-Fiercely Fab

This is a really cool color cheek pallette. I used the third one on the top for blush, and the middle two at the bottom as a bronzer type deal.

So here's the before (excuse the ugly ass robe and turbie twist):

AND AFTER!:

So much better. :)

Well, hope you enjoyed my failed attempt at a makeup tutorial. I swear I will figure out how to do this whole blog/vlog stuff soon.

HAVE A HAPPY THREE KINGS DAY!

What I want...

First I want to say Happy New Year!!! Last night was pretty relaxing. After work, my husband and I went out with my co worker. We barely made it to the first bar for midnight. But we did, and I had my love by my side (my husband, not my friend). We got a lot of free drinks, so I was pretty toasty. Definitely felt it today haha. I felt much better after lunch with my children.

Anyways, I want to something rather than a traditional new years resolution. My friend actually told me to do this. Its a "Want" List. Basically it's the things you want in life to accomplish. People always say what they want, just never achieve it. Including myself. I think creating a list, not just a 5 year goal, but a lifetime goal, and writing it down can help reach your "wants." So her is mine:

1. I want to be a master pastry chef.
2. I want to own my own baker/cafe
3. I want to learn more of my family tree.
4. I want to stop critiquing myself to the point of self blame.
5. I want to think more on the positive side
6. I want to travel the world. Both with and without my kids
7. I want to pay off all my debt
8. I want to learn to accept people rather than push them away.
9. I want to learn how to communicate my feelings without holding them in until I explode.
10. I want to be able to help Preeclampsia survivors and the Preeclampisa Foundation anyway I can.

I will stop at 10 right now. 2015 has been pretty gloomy (story for another time). It turned around though. I have got a new job at a brand new restaruant, I met new friends that I truly connect with. I have opened up more to my family. And much more. I can't wait to see what 2016 brings. The good, the bad, and the ugly, I will be able to push through it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
